In den Naturerlebnisdörfern

Sechs typische Vogelarten der Dörfer sind der Stieglitz, der Bluthänfling, die Rauch- und Mehlschwalbe, sowie der Haus- und Feldsperling. Ihre Gemeinsamkeit besteht darin, dass sie alle in ihren Vorkommen stark zurückgegangen sind! Selbst in den Naturerlebnisdörfern finden Schwalben kaum mehr Stellen, an denen sie Lehm für den Nestbau sammeln können.  In Schmißberg versucht man bereits durch die Anlage von Flachwasserteichen und dem Anbringen von Nisthilfen das Verschwinden der Arten zu stoppen. Obwohl auch ihr Vorkommen stark zurückgeht, sind die beiden Sperlinge noch in jedem der Naturerlebnisdörfer zu finden. Durch den Einsatz von Pestiziden und ausgeräumte Landschaft werden ihre Nahrungsquellen stark beeinträchtigt.

Six typical bird species of the villages are the goldfinch, the linnet, the swallow and house martin, as well as the house and tree sparrow.  Their common feature is that they have all fallen sharply in their occurrence! Even in the Naturerlebnisdörfer, swallows can hardly find any places where they can collect clay for nest building. In Schmißberg, attempts are made to stop the disappearance of these species by creating shallow water ponds and installing nesting aids. Although their occurrence decreases strongly, the two sparrows are still to be found in each of the nature adventure villages. The use of pesticides and wiped out landscape will severely affect their food sources.
